Yesterday I made the trip into London for the wedding of Yael and Jamie at Inner Temple. This was always going to be an international affair with Yael’s family coming from South Africa, as well as American cousins on Jamie’s side. This lovely couple have a second wedding planned in South Africa in a couple of months time, so this one was always going to be a little unusual.
The break with tradition started with Jamie meeting Yael before the ceremony and together with the family we got most of the group photos done. During the ceremony, each were walked down the aisle by their respective parents and when it came to the exchange of rings – well, the real ones will be exchanged at the next wedding, so keep an eye out for their fantastic sense of humour in the photos.
It was a wonderful day, rounded off with a traditional Tea Party style reception – entirely appropriate for a function on the well manicured lawns of Inner Temple, a tranquil escape in the bustle of this big city.
A few photos for Yael and Jamie to enjoy until their full gallery is ready in a month or so. Congratulations to you both, now you just have to do it all over again a continent or two away!
