Friday night was the annual awards ceremony run by Wedding Ideas Magazine and despite a busy weekend ahead, I decided to join many friends from the wedding industry and attend the event, now in it’s 7th year. So, I climbed into my party frock and headed for premier London venue, The Brewery to join in with the glitter & sparkle of the best of the wedding industry.
I chose to borrow a smaller camera than my usual equipment, a hand bag camera, the very capable and retro looking Fuji X100 and this was a real test for it in very low and odd coloured lighting. I let the camera do a lot of the work, only using flash for a couple of the pictures, opting instead to see how the camera coped capturing the full atmosphere of the event. I was probably asking a bit too much of it most of the time, but it still did an admirable job given it’s limitations and is one of the possibilities on my shopping list for a ‘pocket hobby’ camera. I just want to say a big thanks to my great mate Nigel for the loan, it is so nice to be able to carry a normal sized handbag once in a while.
1 – Everyone starts to take their seats for dinner
2 – Ready to party
3 – during the awards ceremony, Alfred Angelo accept their award for Best Dress Collection
4 – The celebration hug as a win is announced for, I think, the guys from Hugh Harris for Best Groomswear
5 – Ana from AnaOspinaMakeUp and Louise of B.Loved Wedding Styling tweet some of the winners as they are announced
6 – My very good friend, Amanda, of Ardley Wedding & Event Planners
7 – Girls in the Pink, Ana[l] and Katie [KatieAldrige][r] with Pippa [m], Advertising Sales Manager from Wedding Ideas Magazine
8 – Andy Jackson of BIS with the very lovely Ellie Sanderson, Winner of Best Bridal Retailer and wearer of amazingly sparkly head adornment!
9 – Yours truly[r] with good friend Steve Hooper from UKWeddingSEO and Gemma[l] from Love Cupcake - obviously I cannot take credit for this picture, it all goes to Amanda, who I think I should train up as a photographer!
10 – Amanda and Alison Tinlin, of Plans & Presents in Glasgow, as the dry ice gets underway for the dancing into the night.
11 – Finally, Pippa takes a turn on the Giraffe Ice Statue and its Vodka fountain
Huge thanks to everyone at Wedding Ideas Magazine for organising such a fantastic night, the Herd did a great job and big, big congratulations to the deserving winners.
