David Goatley once said, “A portrait affirms; it gives the gift of self to its subject. It says, ‘Yes, you are worth spending this time over, your story deserves to be told, you should be recorded for you will not pass this way again’”
As a quote, it might be a bit on the twee side, but it does make a good point – everyone is worth taking photos of. Yes, even those of you who think you hate the camera (or worse, think that the camera hates you)!
So often, I hear people say that they hate having their photograph taken, so I’ll let you in on a little secret – so do I (that might be why you’ll generally find me behind the camera)! The thing is, though, even people who think they hate having their photo taken can look amazing on camera. The trick is getting a real smile, and a comfortable and relaxed shot. My skill is in making that happen.
Every person who steps in front of my lens has a beauty and character that makes delightful images, and I’ll do everything I can to give you a really enjoyable experience as well as a set of portrait photographs that you will cherish.
Portraits don’t have to be staged in a studio, with lights and backdrops – my style very much suits getting you out and about and capturing the natural you. So perhaps a walk in the woods, along the beach, or sightseeing in the city is more your thing. Wherever you feel most comfortable, I’ll use that location to create photographs that you can be proud of.
With an animal menagerie at home, consisting of 2 dogs and 5 cats, as well as regular work with the Mayhew Animal Home here in London, pointing my camera at pets is a regular feature of my work. So if you want some great pictures of your furry friends, or your scaly, feathered or otherwise not-furry pets, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Commercial and Staff
Staff board, website and promotional images – if you’ve got pictures of yourself and your staff anywhere, make sure they’re good ones! I’ve seen too many blurry, hastily-taken shots, and they just don’t give the best impression. Come to me to get those profile and promo portraits done properly, so that they truly reflect the professionalism you want to portray.
